No embroidery experience is necessary! Caitlin and Joleen will guide you through each technique step by step, making this the perfect retreat for complete beginners or anyone looking to build a strong foundation. Throughout the weekend, you'll learn the stitches and techniques that open the door to a lifetime of embroidery. Together, Caitlin and Joleen will teach in a relaxed, encouraging environment where questions are always welcome, mistakes are simply part of learning, and everyone is free to work at their own pace. You'll learn: Basic embroidery stitches How to transfer patterns onto fabric Reverse appliqué Doodle stitching The fundamentals of thread painting Fabric Collage There will be plenty of time to practice each technique, ask questions, and build confidence before moving on to the next skill. You'll also complete beautiful projects that showcase the techniques you've learned, giving you both finished pieces and practical experience. Between stitching sessions, enjoy everything Big Raven Farm has to offer. Take a walk through the gardens, relax on the porch with a cup of coffee, visit the chickens, or simply enjoy the peaceful beauty of the Driftless Region. If your hands need a break, you're welcome to join an optional gentle yoga session with Joleen or spend the afternoon unwinding in whatever way feels right. You'll head home with new skills, finished projects, and the confidence to start your next embroidery piece on your own. More importantly, you'll discover a creative hobby that's as relaxing as it is rewarding. About Caitlin Caitlin Pekuri is a Minnesota based mother and teacher. She taught herself to embroider while at home during the Covid-19 lockdown. Caitlin has won awards for her embroidery at the Wright County Fair and the Minnesota State Fair. She loves to teach and get others excited about learning this hobby she finds very relaxing.
