Rodica Refosk (2024)

Organic producer Rodica farms Refošk in Slovenian Istria, where the variety thrives in the Mediterranean-influenced hills near the Adriatic coast. Fresh red berries meet dried herbs, earth, spice and a distinctly mineral streak, supported by vibrant acidity and supple tannins. The wine is fermented spontaneously and given time in both oak and stainless steel, building savory depth while preserving the grape’s naturally energetic character. This is a food-friendly Slovenian red with plenty of regional personality, particularly well suited to cured meats, grilled pork, sausages, roasted meats, aged cheese and rich pasta dishes.
