This yarn is in hank format and requires conversion to a cake before use. You can purchase the winder and swift from us to DIY or opt for our winding service to do it for you. Hand-dyed by Handmayk’s co-founder, Roya, in her Dubai studio, each skein is dyed in small batches, creating unique natural shades - no two skeins will ever be the same. To minimise variations, we recommend purchasing the quantity you need together. Crafted with 100% superwash merino wool, this yarn offers exceptional softness, versatility, and easy care. Each skein is hand-dyed in our Dubai studio using traditional Japanese Yamato Indigo, making every colour a celebration of one of the world's oldest and most revered natural dyes. No two batches are ever exactly alike, giving each skein its own unique character and depth. This luxurious fibre glides smoothly through your fingers, making it a pleasure to knit, crochet, weave, tuft, and create with. The natural elasticity of merino wool provides excellent stretch and recovery, ensuring your finished projects retain their shape beautifully. Naturally dyed with Yamato Indigo, the yarn develops its rich blue colour through oxidation as it is lifted from the dye vat and exposed to air. The yarn carries a gentle, earthy aroma characteristic of natural indigo, a reminder of the traditional dyeing process. This scent will gradually soften over time and with washing, while the beautiful, naturally derived colour remains. In addition to its exceptional comfort, merino wool offers excellent insulation, keeping you warm in cooler temperatures while remaining breathable for year-round use. Medium: Crochet, Knitting, Tufting, Punch Needle, Weaving Blend: 100% Superwash Merino Wool Texture: Plied Weight: DK Net Weight: 100g Length: 250m Crochet Hook Size (Recommended): 3.5mm to 4mm Knitting Needle Size (Recommended): 3.5mm to 4mm Origin of Brand: UAE Origin of Manufacturer: Portugal Care Guide: Machine Washable, Do Not Tumble Dry, Do Not Bleach, Do Not Iron, Dry Lying Flat Washing Instructions: This yarn has been hand-dyed using traditional Japanese indigo techniques. As with all genuine indigo-dyed textiles, a slight amount of colour transfer (known as crocking) may occur during the first few uses or washes. This is a natural characteristic of indigo dyeing and is not considered a defect. The amount of colour transfer will gradually reduce with use and washing. We recommend washing the yarn separately before first use and avoiding contact with light-coloured fabrics or hands if they are damp. As with all hand-dyed yarns, we recommend testing before full washing. Simply wash a small section using a gentle detergent like Eucalan and observe the results.
