Yamaha SG-RR Standard White 1990

Yamaha SG-RR Standard, white, made in Japan 1990. I love this one, it's so much fun. The SG-RR popped up in the 1990 Yamaha catalog, but I think they only made them for a year or so. It's a simplified take on their SG shape, borrowing a few elements form the Gibson LP Special: flat top, P-90s, simple electronics. Quite frankly, it's awesome. It's super lightweight and comfy to play, and resonates with gusto with every note. The pickups sound great: they have that expansive, shimmering treble typical of P-90s, with a warm and creamy midrange and a walloping, fast bass. Into a dirty tube amp, it's a glorious time. The finish has plenty of fade marks and scuffs, but it's got a bit of swagger to it. Overall: what a fun little guitar... hell yeah. The headstock has dimplees and scuffs on the end, dimples on both edges and some scuffs on the front around the posts. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor scuffs and some 'Jamuroquai' sticker fade marks on the back. The back has dimples in the elbow area and back edge, scuffs around the bottom edge and neck join and some sticker fade marks. The sides have minor cracks in the finish only around the neck heel, sticker marks on the horns, dents in near the jack and elbow area, dimples along the back edge and some minor scuffs and rub wear around the whole body. The front has dimples and surface scratches along the back edge and elbow area, sticker marks all over and some play wear on the guard and horns. Overall: very good condition (7/10) Playing condition notes: action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 10/52 Moonshiners strings. Fret Life: 8/10, minor wear only
