Mid Century Greaves and Thomas upholstered Teak Armchair

This lovely vintage armchair dates to the mid 1960’s when Greaves and Thomas were one of the best UK makers of upholstered contemporary furniture with a leaning towards Scandinavian in looks. This simple design features beautiful sculptural arms which still look fresh and modern today. Possibly one of Greaves and Thomas’ best looking armchairs. The condition is good - the current short cut dusky green velvet upholstery is clean and neat with light wear, offering good support with the metal zigzag supports and hessian strong and in place. The Afromosia teak frame does have a few age dings and marks which you can see in the images with a good deep tone to the timber. We can offer new upholstery if you wish which would cost £480 plus vat and you would require 4 metres of fabric. The chair is clean and ready for placing. A fine piece from Greaves and Thomas.
