GW x Georgia! Education Hour & Party

 Drom Taberna, 458 Queen Street West 8000 years of history, one epic night! We are beyond THRILLED to host Toronto's largest EVER celebration of Georgian natural wine. This event is TWO parts. We kick things off with an Education Hour! This is a seated 75-minute class deep diving into all things Georgia including geography, history, grapes, traditions & what's next. This class will be led by GW co-founder, & certified Georgian wine pro Krysta Oben! If you buy an Education Hour ticket, this gets you into the after party! Speaking of, up next, we're throwing a PARTY!! We'll have Toronto's LARGEST selection of natural Georgian wine ever in one place all pouring by the glass. We'll also have a Georgian food menu, & a special performance by local Georgian Polyphonic singing group, Ori Shalva including traditional Georgian toasts & bite-sized history. Party tickets include a welcome splash and the musical performance. MORE! We are Georgian wine OBSESSED. Georgia has the world's OLDEST evidence of wine production, stretching back 8000 years. Geographically it is in an incredibly interesting place at the intersection between Eastern Europe and Western Asian flanked by the Caucasus Mountains, and the Black Sea. There are thousands of small producers growing over 500 regional, completely unique grapes with many practicing traditional amphora ageing in large qvevri's often buried underground (cool!). Yes, we'll explore deep and savoury skin contact orange wines the country is famous for, but also share crisp whites, savoury rosés and light to deep reds & even some Chacha from some of the most exciting producers in the country, all to the soundtrack of Georgian music accompanied by delicious local snacks.
