Antique Irish Mahogany side cabinet made by R. Strahan & Co

An elegant antique Irish mahogany side cabinet by the renowned Dublin cabinetmakers Robert Strahan & Co., circa mid 1800's. Beautifully constructed in richly figured mahogany, the cabinet features a pair of substantial panelled doors displaying wonderful natural grain, beneath a moulded top and raised gallery back with elegantly shaped side supports. The interior offers two upper drawers fitted with recessed brass handles, together with adjustable shelving below, providing generous and versatile storage. Of particular interest are the original Robert Strahan & Co. maker's labels, including the printed paper trade label, oval maker's plaque and stamped identification marks, offering a wonderful connection to Dublin's furniture-making heritage. A beautifully understated piece of Irish craftsmanship, equally suited to a sitting room, dining room or hallway.
