Sencha Okumidori - Otsuka, Kakegawa

A first flush sencha from a single cultivar, Okumidori, grown by Otsuka in Kakegawa. The tea bushes are shaded before picking (kabuse), which gives a sweet, round cup with plenty of umami. Fine, deep green needle-shaped leaves with a fragrant, silky character. In the cup the liquor is pale yellow.
