J401AB – 1982-1992 GM F-Body Viking Berserker Strut, Front, Double Adjustable

Viking struts have become the gold standard for comfort and capability in one package. AB is Viking’s base street valving, suitable for hot street, autocross, road racing and light drag racing. The J401AB is a double-adjustable strut with 19 positions of compression and 19 of rebound, so you can fine-tune ride, handling and chassis attitude with the twist of a knob. AB is Viking’s most versatile valve code, a great fit for fast street cars that need to do a little of everything well. Optional coil-over conversion: Add the 7904-102 hardware pack to convert the strut to a coil-over. The UMI 2040 caster/camber plates are required for coil-over use, because a coil-over moves the load to the strut mount. With some coil-over setups, the upper spring cap may contact the fenderwell. Check clearance before final assembly. Many customers also run the 2040 with standard springs or weight jacks, but it isn’t required for those setups.
