Charlotte Sjöborg - Vanitas I

Charlotte Sjöborgs Her painting combines the tradition of classical still life with a contemporary and expressive expression. Inspired by Baroque vanitas painting, she allows magnificent floral arrangements to dissolve through extended brushstrokes, flowing paint and shifted contours. In her paintings, Sjöborg explores the relationship between humans, nature and time. Dreamy landscapes, colorful birds and other symbolic elements reinforce the sense of movement and transience – a reminder of the beauty and fleetingness of life. Charlotte Sjöborg is educated at the Bergen Academy of Fine Arts and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm.
