Cantina Orsogna Vola Volé Maiella National Park – Pecorino

Pecorino was once almost lost to history, and it’s now one of Abruzzo’s most exciting white grapes. This version comes from vineyards on the hills of Chieti, high on the slopes of the Maiella, where cool nights and warm days give fresh, aromatic wines. It’s organic, Biodiversity Friend, and made with yeasts drawn from the local flora rather than a packet. In the glass, expect a pale straw colour and a bouquet of white fruit, citrus and floral notes. The palate is vibrant and fruity, with the lively freshness Pecorino is known for. It’s the kind of white that’s easy to enjoy but never dull. Like the whole Vola Volé range, it’s dedicated to the bees and to the health of the land that produces it. Bright, honest and refreshing, it’s a lovely introduction to one of Italy’s best native whites.
