JOEY - WAVE NATURALE // SOLID BRASS

Unlacquered solid brass. Naturale Italian vegetable-tanned Wave leather. 20mm. JOEY is built around four solid-brass components: one buckle, two keepers, and one tip. This version pairs them with Italian vegetable-tanned leather defined by an irregular, undulating surface. Every cut lands differently, so no two belts carry the same pattern. Solid brass hardware is often protected by a clear lacquer to keep its colour stable and visually consistent. For EXPERIMENT 001, we left the brass unsealed. The main product photographs show the general starting tone you can expect, but unlacquered brass may continue to shift in storage and transit. Without a clear lacquer, air, humidity, touch, and time remain visible on the surface. Its tone may already have begun to shift by the time the box reaches you. The most visible changes usually happen early. As the patina develops, the brass tends to settle into a slower, more stable state. Frequently touched areas may behave differently from recessed areas, and the buckle, two keepers, and tip will develop at different rates. These changes are not damage. They are the material remaining visible. The Naturale leather begins pale and largely uncoloured. Through regular wear and exposure, it will gradually darken, warm, and develop a richer patina. Its unpainted edges and irregular wave pattern keep the character of each cut visible from the beginning. Here, both leather and metal are allowed to record time.
