Each size ships from its own production run, so the 25 applies per size, not across the order. Orders under 25 of a size will be held while we contact you. Lead time: in-stock sizes ship within about a week; production runs are 4 to 5 weeks. We confirm the ship date when we acknowledge your order. Freight: containers ship collapsed and stacked on a truck. LTL freight is quoted at checkout from the container weight and collapsed dimensions; for 50 or more, ask us for a truckload rate. It does the job of a cardboard gaylord on a pallet but folds flat for the return trip and lasts for years. How much do they hold? Every size has a 1,800 lb working capacity evenly distributed. Volume runs from 8.7 cu ft on the 32 x 30 x 25 to 46 cu ft on the 48 x 45 x 50. Loaded containers stack four high on the floor. Which size replaces a standard gaylord box? A typical 48 x 40 x 36 in. cardboard gaylord is closest to the 48 x 40 x 34 or 48 x 40 x 39 in. sizes; the 48 x 45 x 34 and 48 x 45 x 42 sizes give more volume on nearly the same footprint. Why is there a 25-container minimum? These ship collapsed and stacked straight from the production floor, and 25 of a size is the smallest run that makes the freight sensible. The minimum applies per size. Truckload quantities are priced lower again. Do they come with lids? Lids are sold separately for the 48 x 45 and 48 x 40 sizes. The lid rests on the rim, keeps dust and weather out, and lets you stack loaded containers without crushing the top layer. Are they food safe?
