Key Features RO Toray TM710D: Toray designed the TLF membrane with a cross-linked hydrophilic polymer layer to resist surface fouling. The advanced coating reduces how often operators must clean RO systems with chemicals. The TLF membrane produces high-quality permeate while using low energy. It helps recover wastewater efficiently and supports sustainable water reuse. The hydrophilic surface resists fouling and extends the membrane’s service life. This membrane enhances system reliability during continuous operation. Toray built the TLF membrane for tough applications requiring high recovery and top permeate quality. 2. General Information about operating for Toray RO elements: Please consult the latest Toray technical bulletin, follow the design guidelines, use the computer design program, or contact an application specialist to determine the recommended design range. Failure to strictly follow the operating limits outlined in this bulletin will void and nullify the Limited Warranty. Toray wet tests all RO elements and treats them with a 1 percent by weight sodium bisulfite storage solution. After the treatment, the team vacuum packs the RO elements in oxygen barrier bags or treats them with a tested feed water solution before vacuum sealing them in oxygen barrier bags containing a deoxidant. Toray recommends flushing the RO elements every two days for 30 to 60 minutes using high-quality flushing water, such as pre-treated feed water, to prevent biological growth during system shutdown. Please refer to the Toray RO Handling Manual for the recommended water quality for flushing. Feed water that contains free chlorine or other oxidizing agents—especially in the presence of heavy metals that act as oxidation catalysts—can cause unexpected oxidation of the membrane. Toray strongly recommends that users remove all oxidizing agents from the feed water before operating the RO system. Permeate from the first hour of operation shall be discarded. The customer is fully responsible for the effects of chemicals that are incompatible with the elements.
