Scarlet Current – Original Hand-Painted Mobile

Scarlet Current brings together bold red, coral and pink with passages of pale blue and unexpected flashes of warmer color. Like every piece in my Hand-Painted Series, this mobile begins with an original abstract painting. I select areas of the finished artwork, cut and shape the individual elements, and then build and balance the stainless steel structure around them. The result is not a painting transferred onto a mobile—the painting itself becomes the mobile. As the elements turn, different portions of the painted surfaces come into view and the composition continually rearranges itself in space. Approximately 16" wide × 22" tall, Scarlet Current is substantial enough to have presence as an original artwork while remaining compact enough for a bedroom, office, reading nook or smaller living space.
