THE HIGH LIFE — FROM £7,500 Why settle for getting on top of the furniture when you can get on top of the whole bloody structure? The High Life is a big, unapologetically indulgent handmade garden retreat with a planted living roof that doubles as a hidden elevated deck. So you can sit underneath it. Sit inside it. Or climb on top of it. Frankly, it’s very accommodating. Downstairs, there’s sheltered L-shaped seating for around six adults, a central table, storage, shelves and a characterful porthole window. Upstairs, a concealed roof deck gives you somewhere private to disappear to once the conversation below gets a bit too respectable. And because this is Made Wood Love, there’s also a little log burner tucked under the right-hand bench. So yes, it gets hot underneath. Very hot, if you’re doing it properly. And a whole extra level on top. We’re not saying size matters. But at 3.6 metres long, it certainly doesn’t hurt. DOWN BELOW The lower level is designed for around six adults. Comfortably. Although what six adults choose to do in a sheltered timber structure with a fire underneath them is entirely their own business. The L-shaped seating gives everyone somewhere to settle in, while the central table keeps drinks, food and other important items within easy reach. No awkward stretching. Unless that’s specifically what you’re into. UP TOP The living roof doubles as a hidden elevated deck. Which means once you’ve had enough of being downstairs, you can go up. Naturally. Final roof-deck capacity will depend on the finished structural specification. Because while we’re very open-minded about what happens on top, we’re also quite fond of basic structural engineering. THE HOT BIT A compact log burner is incorporated beneath the right-hand bench inside a purpose-made insulated, fire-resistant enclosure. The flue is routed discreetly through the structure. So all the heat. None of the embarrassing exposure. Final stove and flue specification is agreed before installation. Because if you’re going to have something burning underneath you, protection is important. MADE TO ORDER Each High Life is individually built. Approximate lead time: 8–12 weeks. Long enough to build the anticipation. Not long enough to lose interest. PRICE From £7,500 Groundwork, delivery, planting, site access requirements and final stove installation are quoted separately. Final cost depends on location, specification and how far you want to take it. Want it longer? Wider? Darker? More heavily planted? A bit more private upstairs? If you’re in North Wales, we’ll usually bring it to you ourselves. Further afield, we’ll arrange the best way of getting it to you safely — pallet, courier, van, or whatever makes most sense for the piece. Some of the larger and more gloriously awkward creations may need a little extra organising, particularly if you’re a long way from us, but we’ll sort that with you directly. Collection is always welcome too. At the moment, we deliver within the UK only.
