North Korean Chinese Korean War Canteen

Rare Chinese Communist produced canteen for North Koreans. This canteen is a ChiCom copy of the WW2 Japanese Type 95 canteen. However, it has different, dark, color, thick, paint; loosely woven, thick, cotton webbing of two widths of the exact same type used on other Korean War Chinese 1950 and 1951 dated canteens; typical ChiCom wire roller buckle on the shoulder strap; a thin, rounded, metal cork holder and a maker mark not recognized as one of the usual Japanese WW2 canteen makers. Also, Japanese WW2 Japanese canteens typically had a paint mark on the flat bottom indicating the Showa year of manufacture. Because all of North Korean military manufacturing was either bombed or captured, the Chinese produced whatever the DPRK needed.
