Vintage Thai Celadon Green Studio Pottery Scalloped Candle Holder

A beautiful vintage Thai celadon candle holder, handcrafted in stoneware with the loveliest soft olive-green glaze and a gently scalloped, almost flower-like rim. The celadon glaze has a wonderful fine crackle throughout, with deeper green tones settling into the folds around the edge and giving the piece so much depth and texture. Designed to fit a standard dinner candle, the wide shallow dish catches the light beautifully once lit. The underside carries an impressed pottery seal, though we haven’t been able to confidently attribute it to a specific workshop. The form and characteristic crackled celadon glaze are consistent with traditional Thai celadon pottery, likely dating from the later 20th century. A really lovely little piece for cosy evenings and dinner tables, simple, organic and beautifully tactile. Top diameter: 14cm Base diameter: 8cm Height: 5cm
