Tell it like it is

Cotton, cheese cloth.Writing with Cola pen and syringe, collage, hand- and machine stitching – My work has always been text based. I started being fascinated by the signage in the urban landscape – by the historical documentation of time and place through distressed and fragmented posters, advertisements and graffiti on city walls.With the slow disappearance of handwriting using digital communication, however, my interest changed to journals and letters written by hand. I stitch and write directly onto textiles with a variety of tools to celebrate personal mark making with words, signs and symbols and to express intimacy and reflection. 38 x 38 cm
