An In The Country Exclusive! [L] Iowa hybridizer Rod Kuenster really knocked it out of the park with this cross of 'Hyuga Urajiro' x 'Misty May'! Ask any blue hosta enthusiast, and they will tell you that finding a large blue hosta with both intense glaucous color and excellent vigor can be a real challenge. Hosta 'Cosmic Blue Frost' solves that problem effortlessly, bringing a cool, frosty blue that brightens up dark corners of the shade garden. You'll be hooked the moment you feel the heavy leaf substance on these elegant, pointed leaves! A thick waxy coating gives the foliage a powdery, ice-blue appearance that holds up exceptionally well through the summer months. Supported by sturdy upright petioles, the large, vase-like form arches outward with commanding presence. While many big blue hostas take forever to fill out, Hosta 'Cosmic Blue Frost' is a remarkably strong grower that builds size with enthusiasm...and that means you won't have to wait a decade for a stunning specimen!. Jump in head first with this Iowa-bred hosta and enjoy it's peaceful, cool color all season long! (R. Kuenster)
