Club Blazer

A young man leaves the Ivy League and is welcomed into a service club. This is the blazer he has made for occasions unlike those of his student days. "Club Blazer" starts from that scene: a double-breasted blazer made with quality at its center. The cloth is from Abraham Moon, founded in Yorkshire, England, in 1837. A plain navy made to our order, based on the mill's "Blazer Stripe". The 60% wool, 40% cotton blend gives a luster with a smooth, supple hand and a depth that neither 100% wool nor 100% cotton has. The color is a deep, clear navy that recalls the deep sea. Several details are sampled from the military wear often seen as the root of the navy blazer. Peaked lapels set slightly low add a restrained elegance. The sculpted drape across the chest, a product of cloth and pattern, carries the bearing of a uniform. The buttons are gold, struck with a sailing ship. The lower pockets, by contrast, are casual patch pockets. The body length is set a little short, which keeps it light and easy to wear, never too stiff. It is sewn at a factory in Aomori Prefecture that specializes in tailored clothing. The clean roll at the collar and the forward pitch of the sleeves (set to follow the natural movement of the arm) are built up through many rounds of pressing during construction. Precise tailoring that delivers both comfort and a well-proportioned silhouette.
