Experimental Onryo Assault Walker
The earliest prototypes of the Special-Type Onryō Assault Walker were secretly tested on prisoners of war captured during the United States' failed invasion of Iwo Jima in late 1946. After initial combat trials proved the machine's unrivalled ability to engage at close quarters without any exposure to closing fire, the third prototype unit, piloted by Captain Ishii Shigeru, was outfitted with a Shiboru micro-gravity weapon, a highly capable close range weapon, in order to trial the experimental walker's capabilities against more heavily armoured opponents. This 3D-printed model uses the standard Onryō rules, with some cosmetic differences reflecting its prototype status, making it a worthy addition to any Japanese collection. Equipped with a Type 61 Light Shiboru Cannon and fearsome Walker Combat Blade, this versatile and ultra-manoeuvrable walker is capable of taking on all comers on the tabletop. A plastic Onryo kit with all weapon options will be released in early 2027! Miniature sculpted by Jon Heeney. Studio miniature painted by Darek Wyrozebski. Models supplied unassembled and unpainted.
