Konark Clock

Blending antique temple architecture with horological craftsmanship, this exquisite wooden mantel clock immortalizes the stone-carved splendour of the Sun Temple at Konark. Handcrafted from rich natural wood, the rectangular facade is conceived as an intricate monolithic temple wall, framed by horizontal friezes depicting caparisoned elephants, dancers, and royal processions across the top and plinth. Fluted architectural pillars and tiered niches cradle sculpted figures and celestial apsaras, evoking the grandeur of ancient Kalinga stone masonry in warm, sculpted timber. At the heart of the facade lies a three-dimensional wooden rendition of the iconic Konark Sun Dial wheel. Every spoke, decorative medallion, and beaded rim is carved in relief, echoing the 13th-century chariot wheels originally engineered to track solar time. Polished brass hour and minute hands glide gracefully over the concentric carved motifs of the central axle, bridging ancient cosmic chronometry with functional modern timekeeping. Driven by a precision quartz movement, this statement piece transforms sacred Indian architectural heritage into an arresting conversational centrepiece, making it a distinguished accent for any executive desk, mantelpiece, or collector sanctum.
