The extra pep in this ultra-compact model was achieved by shortening the Lothar Walther barrel of the original Varmint by a full 160 mm. With a length of 340 mm, the barrel still ensures tight groupings at great distances, and the center of gravity is now much closer to the middle. Shooters benefit from better agility and faster shooting, thanks also to the reduced weight of 3,750 g. The ruggedness and agility of the original Varmint are also embodied in the stock and receiver. The proven 230-bar compressed air cylinder reliably propels the 8 pellets in the rotary magazine through the ½″ UNF thread and the supplied compensator to their target. The first-stage trigger travel is adjustable. The tough polymer body withstands the most punishing use, and the Hi-Grip surfaces and thumbhole stock sit well in the hand. Like other Rotex rifles, the UC has an 11-mm rail for mounting a scope and therefore comes without an open sight.
