The Big Peat Sinterklaas The 2nd Edition is a limited edition Islay blended malt from the independent bottler Douglas Laing bottled especially for the Dutch market to celebrate Sinterklaas. This is the second Sinterklaas release and this time it has a an exotic rum cask finish. It got bottled in 2026 at 56,4% ABV, non chill filtered and with no added colour, as a limited edition release. This is a 6cl sample. Nose: peat smoke with charred pineapple and mango, candied lemons, freshly baked pepernoten and warm Christmas spices Palate: powerful and smoky with juicy tropical fruit, lemon zest, savoury aromas of prosciutto, sweet rum aromas and Christmas spices Finish: long, smoky and warming with lingering Christmas spices, candied citrus and a light salty/savoury touch
