The Franklin Tree is a small deciduous tree that is extinct in the wild. Originally found growing on the banks of the Altamaha River in Georgia in the US in 1770, it was extinct in the wild by 1803. A member of the Camellia family, it prefers full sun to part shade in a rich well drained soil. Seldom offered in Australia.
