Amazing soft and faded look with a minimal color scheme. It takes years to arrive at a patina such as this. The blanket has a handwoven cotton base which is then hand embroidered also in cotton. It takes months to complete. Being handmade, some slight imperfections in the weaving and color are normal and to be expected. The embroidery is so time consuming that they are done in multiple stages, taken out and worked on and then put away again with this process repeated multiple times, giving ample opportunity for them to encounter dirt from the surrounding environment. Some lighter blankets are more prone to these slight marks, scars, small stains, and sometimes pen around the figures...testimony to the jungle living conditions and a naif art badge.
