Application Non-Contact Advance 80GHz Radar Level Measurement The iRADAR ONE Level Transmitter is a high-performance, non-contact level sensor designed for precise measurements in various liquid and solid applications. The iRADAR ONE features a two-wire & four-wire configuration and delivers a 4–20mA, HART & Modbus communication for improved integration and diagnostics. The principle of operation for an 80 GHz radar level sensor for liquids & solids is based on Frequency Modulated, Continuous Wave (FMCW) technology, which enables highly accurate, non-contact level measurement. • Continuous Wave Emission: The radar emits a continuous signal whose frequency is modulated over a wide bandwidth (typically 78–82 GHz). • Reflection and Frequency Shift: When the radar waves hit the liquid surface, they reflect back. The sensor measures the frequency difference between the transmitted and received signals. • Distance Calculation: This frequency shift is directly proportional to the distance between the sensor and the liquid surface, allowing precise level measurement.
