Pumped water flows between the outer casing and the motor, keeping the motor cool even in near-dry conditions. The pump incorporates Tsurumi's patented oil-bathed mechanical seal, which allows it to run dry for short periods without damage. An automatic motor cut-out is built in as standard: if the motor overheats or detects an over-current, it shuts off automatically before damage occurs and can be reset once cooled.
