Give that Chatham, Ontario is on the Thames River, it seemed appropriate to reference music associated with the River Thames in England. Adhering to this genre, the music is tuneful throughout the entire overture including the main themes, the expressive lyrical section, and the development segments which lead the piece to a recapitulation and triumphant conclusion.
