Crazy Tube Circuits Triptychon Fuzz
Vintage Gain Architecture, Rebuilt for Modern Rigs The Crazy Tube Circuits Triptychon is a fully analog gain platform designed to recreate one of the most iconic signal chains in electric guitar history: vintage fuzz, harmonic boosting, and a pushed tube amp working together as a complete system. Rather than treating fuzz, boost, and overdrive as separate effects, the Triptychon is built around the interaction between them, delivering the compression, cleanup, sustain, and harmonic complexity that defined countless classic recordings, now in a format that works beautifully with modern clean-platform rigs. Three Distinct Voices, One Cohesive System At the center of the Triptychon is a 4-voice analog fuzz engine, offering circuits inspired by some of the most revered vintage designs, from dynamic Fuzz Face-style tones to thicker, more aggressive Tone Bender territory. The right-side section adds either a dual-voice treble booster or an upper octave fuzz, allowing everything from cutting lead boost to rich octave saturation and harmonically complex textures. The left-side amp-style drive section completes the system, recreating the feel and compression of a pushed tube amplifier. Rather than acting as a conventional overdrive, it provides the tonal foundation that allows the fuzz and boost sections to behave the way these classic circuits were originally intended to. Classic Feel Without Vintage Limitations While deeply inspired by vintage circuits, the Triptychon solves many of the frustrations associated with them. A custom six metal-can silicon transistor design delivers much of the touch sensitivity, cleanup, and musical response players associate with germanium fuzz, but with the stability and consistency of silicon. Dedicated anti-buffer circuits help preserve proper interaction even when used after buffered pedals, active pickups, or wireless systems, making the Triptychon far easier to integrate into modern pedalboards than traditional vintage-style fuzz designs. Built for Serious Fuzz Players The Triptychon can be used as a compact multi-stage gain system or integrated more deeply into advanced rigs, with assignable drive routing and optional external switching for greater control. Bold, dynamic, and exceptionally flexible, the Triptychon is one of Crazy Tube Circuits’ most ambitious analog gain designs to date.
