Gasping Gary™ Smoker's Lungs Comparison Model
Gasping Gary™ Smoker's Lungs Comparison Model Smoking is guaranteed to harm health, but it may take awhile to understand what damage is occurring inside the body. This convenient lung comparison model is the perfect way to take an inside look. Although one of Gasping Gary’s lungs is smooth and pink—representing the healthy lungs of someone who is smoke-free and avoids secondhand smoke—Gasping Gary’s other lung, which has been destroyed by emphysema and cancer, sadly looks more like melted plastic than human tissue. These two latex lung models illustrate their differences in appearance and function with no mess and minimal setup. As the bellows pump inflates the lungs, the healthy lung deflates easily while the diseased lung struggles to expel its air before the next simulated breath. Viewers quickly get a sense of the smothering feeling sufferers of emphysema experience as they are unable to inhale fresh air because their lungs are overinflated. Carrying case (item #HE-96102) available separately. Demonstration model measures 17 x 23" x 10". Gasping Gary joins Breathless Brian™ (HE-79556) and Lou-Wheeze™ (HE-79261) for our full line of Smoker’s Lungs Comparison Models. *This model contains latex.
