2021 Self-Titled Vinyl Release Booklet (Digital PDF) This booklet was originally included with my 2021 self-titled vinyl. Over time, people kept asking about the text itself — the notes, the reflections, the process language that lived alongside the music. It was a quiet set of reflections written alongside the music about repetition, slowing down, staying with discomfort, and continuing a practice even when nothing feels resolved. This year, I revisited and revised it to preserve the clarity of that period. Thanhyen Nguyen is a composer, producer, and founder of OutOfPrint Recordings, an independent music and publishing imprint based in Brooklyn, New York. His work spans recorded music, sound-based publications, and process-oriented documentation focused on continuity, listening, and long-form creative practice. This booklet is adapted from material originally released with a 2021 vinyl record and revised in 2026. Contents Preface, Cycle. Process. Preserve., Discomfort, Depression + Perseverance, Practice, Forgiveness, Special Thanks, Tracklist Categories: MUSIC / General PHILOSOPHY / General ART / General How this fits with the music This booklet does not explain the album. It sits beside it. Some people start with the vinyl and find their way here. Others begin with the text and return to the music differently. Who this is for Artists, producers, or listeners who value process over output People who connected with the 2021 vinyl beyond the music Anyone navigating repetition, slowing down, or long-form practice Who this is not for People looking for step-by-step instruction Productivity or optimization frameworks Motivational or “fix-it” content This is a short, self-contained document. Read in one sitting. Revisited over time.
