Lovely, solid wood, wall shelves salvaged from Northeastern PA. The shelves are made of solid knotty pine. Shelf #1 is completely stained and finished and Shelf#2 is entirely unfinished. Besides the color, there are a few small differences between the shelves. Shelf#1 has carved corners on the top board, while Shelf#2 has flat corners (see last photo). If you buy both and plan on using them together, this can simply be fixed by sanding Shelf#2's corners down. Notice that The train design is flipped horizontally on each shelf. There is a groove on top that runs the width of the shelves. This allows you to put your plates and fine China up on display. Both pieces are handmade. I'm estimating that they were made 30 - 40 years ago. Each shelf has 2 metal clips on the back to facilitate hanging on a wall. The shelves are in great condition! There are very small imperfections (nicks and scratches) here and there but there are no broken or cracked joints, gouges, rot, warp, or any serious issues. The worst damage is a break on Shelf#1 (see 6th photo). Please note that the break is towards the back of the piece and hard to see. Our carpenter thoroughly inspected them and found no repairs to make nor anything to reinforce. They're ready for another lifetime of service!
