Sand Dollar Pendant

I made this pendant at the request of a customer who had bought a pair of sand dollar earrings in the past. These were made using silver clay using a sand dollar stamp impressed into the clay to form a deep impression. I made a ring of silver around the sand dollar with a bubble texture and dried it it on a form to get a curved shape. A silver ring was created for the top of the pendant. After sanding and refining the piece it was kiln fired for 2 hours at 1650 degrees F. The piece was then burnished with 24K Gold Foil, an ancient Korean technique called Keum Boo. Patina was painted on for added color. The customer loved it. Dimensions : Diameter 1 and 1/2 inches. 18 " sterling silver chain.
