In this two part class, you will learn—and knit—all parts of a sock: cuff, leg, heel, gusset, foot and toe. We'll be making a “footy” (short sock) in fingering-weight yarn on small needles. You will complete one sock during (and between) the class. You will also learn to close the sock using the Kitchener stitch. Skills Required: Must be able to knit, purl, cast-on and bind-off, and must have experience knitting in the round on double-pointed needles (Magic Loop or 2 circulars) with fingering-weight yarn on small needles. Materials Required: A light-colored fingering-weight sock yarn (100gr will make 2 socks; 50gr will make one.) US size 2 needles; and either 6” double-pointed needles, a 32” long circular for Magic Loop, or two 16” circulars. Heavenly Yarns will offer a 10% discount for class supplies. Date/Time: Saturday July 11 & 18, 10:00am-12:30pm Instructor: Reah Janise Kauffman Homework: Cast on 60(64) stitches. Join in the round and knit a K1, P1 ribbing for 8 rounds. Minimum of 3 students, Maximum of 6 Cancellation Policy: Classes may be cancelled for a full refund if we are notified by phone (207-338-8388) at least 48 hours in advance of the start of the class. If you cancel after the 48 hours, you will only get a refund if we are able to fill your spot.
