For coffee residue, a soft microfiber cloth slightly dampened with warm water is your best tool. Dry it immediately and thoroughly after wiping. What to avoid Keep alcohol-based products and similar substances away from the wood, as these can draw moisture out and cause the wood to dry and crack. Wipe up any spills quickly. Never submerge the holder in water or run it through a dishwasher. Avoid detergent-based soaps that contain silicone or ammonia, as these can break down the outer layer of the wood and reduce its natural luster.
