PM Spinning Tips and Tricks with Cecilia from Nor'easter Yarns
This is an afternoon PM session, 2p after lunch. Class will be shown as SOLD OUT until registration opens on May 1st. Spinning Tricks and Tips Learn to chain ply and see how it changes how you control the colors in your hand spun yarn, as well as the texture. Try spinning different fibers, and see how they react to twist, speed, ply, etc. This is not a beginner’s class. Teacher: Cecilia Stern-Frisenfelds Cecilia is originally from Sweden, and used to author text books and worked as an editor and project manager for a large publishing house in Sweden. Years ago, she started her fiber company Nor'easter Yarns, focusing on local and small farms. Nor'easter Yarns does it all; customized roving, hand spun yarns, commercial yarns (local wool, local mill in Hillsdale NY Nobletown Fireworks), knitting, and various coops with local businesses. https://www.noreasteryarns.com Previous Skills Needed: Basic spinning skills on a wheel. This is not a beginner class. Supplies to Bring: You are encouraged to bring your own treadle wheel or electric wheel. If you need to borrow one please reach out to Connected Stitches for availability. You may also bring your own fiber to spin.
