Hand Made Pizza Peels (July 30th and August 1st) with Martin Thornell

It's time to up your pizza game, with a brand new pizza peel! A wooden board is durable, antibacterial and something you'll cherish for years to come. Martin will teach you how to prepare the wood properly in order to make a beautiful pizza peel. The wood we'll be using in the course is locally sourced Walnut, Cherry, Maple and Oak. Participants will begin by learning how to joint, plane and join wood. These skills are transferable and applicable to countless other woodworking projects. On the second day, participants will work on shaping, sanding and finishing their new peel and will all leave with a beautiful board made of mixed domestic species. All boards will be finished with a natural food-safe finish that is a blend of oils and waxes.
