67647 Acting Bombardier William Clark-Frost Bates was born in Fintona, County Tyrone, Ireland. He was living in Blyth, Northumberland and had previous service in the 3rd Durham Volunteer Artillery when he joined the Royal Garrison Artillery in 1915. He was killed in action 5 September 1917 and is buried in COXYDE MILITARY CEMETERY, Belgium.
