Vintage 18K Gold 18” Fancy Link Chain

This particular design is often called a fancy link, and was inspired by the French fancy link chains of the Victorian era. The fancy link design consists of lozenge-shaped links connected by small bits of chain in between. This vintage 18k gold chain features a repeating twisted motif: in the center, there are two textured, twisted elements that mirror each other to create an open lace-like link with pretty filigree. This vintage chain is in excellent condition and was made to emulate the chains of the Victorian era. It is a high quality chain with each link put together by hand; a lot of labor went into making it. The chain is 18” long. Each link measures approximately 3/8” x 1/4”. The chain weighs 8 grams. Marked on the clasp as 18k. The pretty design of the fancy link looks beautiful alone as a single chain. When layered with other chains, it creates a lace like effect. The chain has a rich hue to its gold, so we’ve paired it here with our Victorian 18K Gold Perfume Bottle Pendant, which has been bloomed with a high karat gold. The pair make a great combination.
