A high-polish dome looks its best in the box and worse every week after; satin works the opposite way. Small scratches settle into the grain rather than standing out against a mirror, so the band holds its character through years of daily wear. When you eventually want it crisp again, a few minutes at the bench restores it. The Dome Profile The dome is the oldest wedding band shape there is, and it survives because it works. The exterior curves gently from edge to edge so there is no hard corner to press against the fingers on either side, and the interior is comfort-fit, gently rounded to clear the knuckle without dragging. At 4mm it stays slim on the hand — the width most men choose when they want the ring to read as understated, or when they have never worn one before and want to forget it is there.
