Stop Jabiluka mine black organic t-shirt
The Wilderness Society, alongside the Australian Conservation Foundation and other environmental groups, stood with the Mirarr Traditional Owners in the late 1990s in a major campaign against the proposed Jabiluka uranium mine in Kakadu National Park. The anti-nuclear hand symbol featured here was designed by Kathleen McCann in 1996 in support of the Mirarr people's fight, and went on to become a widely recognised emblem of anti-nuclear resistance across the movement. To mark the Wilderness Society's 50th anniversary, we've created a t-shirt for places around the country that pay tribute to landmark wins inspired by vintage campaign designs. This 'Stop Jabiluka Mine' t-shirt is part of our 'Wilderness Tour' collection, celebrating some of the Wilderness Society's greatest hits! Together, for five decades we've been showing up for communities, wildlife, and the wild places they need to survive. Wear this t-shirt in tribute to the Mirarr people's fight, and the movement that stood beside them.
