Antique silver paste brooch - Large Victorian-Edwardian pin
A stunning antique silver brooch dating from the late Victorian Era. It is white metal which tests as silver set with twinkling white paste rhinestones. It has a simple 'C' catch and an ingenious hinged indented silver strut which holds the pin securely in place. I have never seen anything like it, most brooches have safety chains, it looks to have been later added to the brooch, clearly the owner treasured the brooch and wanted to ensure the pin didn't come loose. It works really well and the brooch feels very secure when it is pinned! ERA : Victorian - Edwardian MATERIALS : White metal unmarked but tests as Silver. White rhinestones. MEASUREMENTS : It measures 4cm x 3.5cm. WEIGHT : 16.7 Grams. CONDITION GUIDELINE : Is in very good condition with no missing stones.
