THE SANKOFA Adinkra Bangle features a meditative interlocking Sankofa Adinkra symbol wrapped around the length of the band. Sankofa translates to the term "to go back and fetch it". It speaks of the importance of knowing one's past in order to navigate the present and future. The Adinkra symbols were originally created by the Bono people of Gyaman. They were named after the Gyaman King Nana Kwado Agyemang Adinkra. The symbols were later adopted into the proverbial lexicon of the Ashanti peoples of West Africa.
