Grimoire Parfums - WÚ GĀNG 50ml Parfum
Grimoire - The Book of 'Dark Magic' reveals a new folklore Volume VI - HUÁXIÀ An Osmanthus tree on the Moon. LORE 吳剛 Wú Gāng was a mortal man with great impatience. He sought immortality which came at a great cost. He was punished by the Heavens and sent to the Moon with a task of cutting down an Osmanthus Tree. The tree healed itself each time if was struck, and would grow back as quickly as Wú Gāng struck it. The task proves endless and can never be completed. Top Notes: Raspberry Leaf, Apricot, Tea, Mandarin, Sichuan Pepper, Cardamom, Davana Middle Notes: Osmanthus, Magnolia, Maté, Aglaia, Jasmine Sambac, Cinnamon, Carnation Base Notes: Tobacco, Cedar, Birch Tar, Patchouli, Wool, Castoreum, Asparagus NON-VEGAN OLFACTORY FAMILY Fruity, Tea, Leather, Animalic, Woody, Mineral PERFUMER’S NOTES “Wú Gāng is my first fragrance since my opening collection, built from one of the earliest formulas I ever finished for family and friends. I wanted to revisit it to mark my growth as a perfumer. It stands apart from the opening collection because it centres on a single note - the osmanthus in all its facets: the tea, the apricot, the tobacco, the leather, the animalic edge. The concept was straightforward: how does an osmanthus tree on the moon smell; the challenge was how it smells after being struck down. The fragrance follows the trajectory of the story, moving from a bright, resonant opening into a sharp decline that becomes suffocating, mineralic, and dry.”
