Ford Transit LOW ROOF Air Conditioner Adapter

Patent Pending adapter matches the contour of the OEM roof so an air conditioner mounts to a flat surface. Prevents distorting the roof sheet metal and can be used as an aid for locating the AC. They are CNC machined out of UV and fire resistant expanded PVC. Some of our adapters are made with different size openings than the manuals state. These will be a better fit! Please let us know if you are putting one of these in an existing hole that is 14" x 14". The Nomadic X2/X3 Plus opening is 14 1/4" L x 14 1/2" W Mabru opening is 14.675 L x 20.125 W Gree opening in our adapter is 12.125" L x 14.125" W The OutEquipPro Glacier opening is 16.25" L x 15.5" W The OutEquipPro Summit opening is 9.35" L x 14.5" W Velit 2000R opening is 11.875" L x 15.625" W Velit 2000R MINI opening is 12 1/4" L x 16" W Breezonic opening is 15 1/4" L x 15 1/4" W The Generic Adapter is for AC's not listed that require a 14 x 14 opening. Internal framing is necessary. We highly recommend our internal framing support system. The Transit roof becomes very flimsy when the hole is cut, especially in the Front and Mid Bay positions. It will be either Front bay or Mid bay. AC Adapter Install procedure: We recommend Sikaflex 221 or 3m Window-weld adhesive. Locate and cut the hole. You can use the adapter as a guide to mark the hole. Stay clear of roof supports, obviously. Make a tape line 1/4" beyond the adapter perimeter. De-gloss the area with a Scotch- brite pad. No need to scuff. Just dull the paint. Clean with isopropyl alcohol and let dry thoroughly. Blow dryer if it's wet and/or cold out. Apply a good amount of the Window-weld on the face of the adapter. Then press the adapter down onto the roof until the adhesive oozes out the sides. It's not necessary to clamp. If you do, use a lot of lightly set clamps and spread out the clamp force over the whole surface area. Using the adhesive that oozes out, make a fillet around the adapter with a double gloved finger. Pull the tape within 15 minutes. Cure is fast on outside. Let cure overnight and then proceed with the AC install per the AC instruction. Seal the adapter and onto the roof about 1/2" with Dicor self leveling sealant or Flexseal from the TV guy works well. Good idea to check the integrity and reapply the sealant every so often.
