A drafty 800 sq ft great room will feel warmer near the panel but the far corner will still need your regular heat. It is not a real fire. The flame effect and crystal ember bed look convincing at normal viewing distance, and the multicolor options are genuinely striking. But it is an LED-lit visual effect. No wood, no smoke, no crackling. It should not be left running unattended. The overheat shutoff and 1-12 hour timer exist because unattended space-heater use is how house fires happen. Use the timer. Never leave it on when you leave the house or go to sleep. It draws close to a full 15A circuit at 1500W. Plug it directly into a wall outlet, not a power strip or extension cord. If the outlet is on a shared circuit with a microwave or window AC, you'll trip the breaker when both are running.
