INSPIRATION: Astronomy has always fascinated me. Since I was a kid, I’ve loved learning about stars, constellations, planets, and stargazing. In high school and college, I even took astronomy classes at planetariums. As an adult, I now have a telescope, and on clear nights I get to see the planets, moon, and stars up close. North Star grew from that lifelong sense of wonder. When I paint, I often feel like I’m creating places that don’t exist anywhere except in my imagination. This piece feels like one of those places, somewhere between a landscape and a constellation, with shapes and colors coming together like a little world of its own.
