Martin Guitars - 1986 D-28 - Used
This Martin D-28 is a 1986 example of the American-made craftsmanship that has been the hallmark of C.F. Martin guitars throughout the years. Clocking in a 40-years-old and featuring a Sitka spruce top over East Indian rosewood back and sides, this is that classic 28-style build that Martin popularized throughout the back half of the 20th century. With rear-shifted, non-scalloped bracing this dreadnought has a focused bass-forward tone and a surprising amount of volume. Being from '96, this D-28 features an adjustable truss rod, one of the first to come out of Nazareth, PA with that option. Here with a low saddle and standard action, this D-28 is in Good condition with playwear, several scratches and dents present throughout the top and back. There is a mark to the finish on the back of the neck, possibly a strap or capo at one time. Here with the original molded-plastic hardshell case. 14-Fret Dreadnought Rear-Shifted X-Bracing and White binding/Multi-Stripe inlay Sitka Spruce top Black pickguard Multi-Stripe rosette East Indian Rosewood back and sides 25.4" scale length Shallow "C" Shape Profile Ebony fingerboard with 20 frets and dot inlays 1 11/16" nut width Ebony bridge and 2 3/16" string spacing and Drop in saddle Chrome Enclosed Gear Martin Tuners Original Hardshell Case (with Serial# 462365
